Our leader today, in a flat and fast stage, was Sam Bennett and we all worked very hard to control the race, protect him and support him. Unfortunately, despite the very big effort by all of us, it wasn’t our day. The breakaway stayed in the front until the finish and won by a few seconds. I did my best to close the gap in the final kilometers and Sam was the strongest in the bunch sprint but this wasn’t enough. However, that’s cycling and this is also part of the game. The start and finish in the racetrack were very nice, I really liked the atmosphere created by the big crowds there. Gracias San Juan!
Naším lídrom v dnešnej rovinatej a rýchlej etape, bol Sam Bennett a všetci sme veľmi tvrdo pracovali, aby sme riadili priebeh pretekov, chránili ho a podporovali ho. Bohužiaľ, napriek veľkému úsiliu nás všetkých, to nebol náš deň. Únik zostal vpredu až do konca s náskokom len pár sekúnd. V posledných kilometroch som urobil maximum, aby som doskočil medzeru a Sam bol najrýchlejší v špurte pelotónu, ale nestačilo to. Avšak, taká je cyklistika a aj to je súčasť športu. Začiatok a koniec pretekov boli veľmi pekné, veľmi sa mi páčila atmosféra vytvorená veľkými davmi divákov. Gracias San Juan.
