First road stage at the Tour de Suisse and a fast bunch sprint, as expected. I’d like to thank all my Team TotalEnergies teammates for their effort today, and, especially, Daniel Oss for his great job in the final kilometers as the last man of the sprint train. Luckily, I wasn’t affected by the big crash with 30km to go, I was just held up and managed to join the peloton. There was headwind in the finale and I found some traffic in the sprint but I was able to make my way through and score a good fifth place. Congratulations to Biniam Girmay for his victory.
Première étape en ligne au Tour de Suisse et un sprint massif rapide, comme prévu. Je voudrais remercier tous mes coéquipiers du Team TotalEnergies pour leur effort aujourd’hui, et, en particulier, Daniel Oss pour son excellent travail dans les derniers kilomètres en tant que dernier homme du train de sprint. Heureusement, je n’ai pas été affecté par la chute massive à 30 km de l’arrivée, j’ai juste été retenu et j’ai réussi à rejoindre le peloton. Il y avait du vent de face dans le finale et j’ai trouvé du trafic dans le sprint mais j’ai pu me trouver un chemin et obtenir une bonne cinquième place. Félicitations à Biniam Girmay pour sa victoire.
