We wanted to make the stage tough today and drop the sprinters. We worked hard all day for that, until the finish. I took fourth and got more points in the fight for the green jersey. The goal was to take more, but in the end, this is the best we could do. This is a very hard Tour de France and I’d like to thank my teammates for their fantastic job, not only today but every day since the start in Nice.
Chceli sme dnešnú etapu urobiť čo najnáročnejšou a utrhnúť šprintérov. Celý deň sme na tom tvrdo pracovali. Obsadil som napokon štvrté miesto a získal viacero bodov v boji o zelený dres. Cieľom síce bolo zabodovať ešte viac a aj keď sme do toho dali všetko, tak toto bolo maximum čo sme z toho vyťažili. Je to veľmi náročná Tour de France a rád by som sa poďakoval svojim spolujazdcom za skvelú prácu nielen dnes, ale aj každý deň od samotného začiatku v Nice.
