I’m very happy and proud to step on the final podium in Milan, wearing the ciclamino jersey of the Giro d’Italia. It has been a dream of mine for many years and I am delighted to see it come true today. I’d like to thank the race organizers, the incredible Italian public that was back on the roads cheering for us, and all my teammates for their work in these three tough weeks of racing.
Som veľmi šťastný a hrdý na to, že môžem v cyklaménovom drese vystúpiť na pódium aj na konci Giro d’Italia v Miláne. Bol to môj sen už mnoho rokov a som šťastný, že sa mi to dnes splnilo. Rád by som poďakoval organizátorom pretekov a neuveriteľným talianským fanúšikom, ktorý boli opäť pri cestách a povzbudzovali nás. Samozrejme ďakujem všetkým mojím spolujazdcom za ich prácu v týchto troch náročných pretekových týždňoch.
