I could say it was a good day and I’d like to thank my Team TotalEnergies teammates for their effort. We were in the front throughout the stage, our guys worked hard on the climb and managed to have the peloton split when we reached the top. Then together with Movistar, we put our riders in the front to control the race and catch the breakaway and when we saw that all sprinters were dropped we started pulling. Congratulations to Gaviria for his victory. For us, it could have been better or worse but Fernando was the fastest today and I’m happy with my result. And it’s a pleasure for me to share today’s podium with two very good friends, Fernando Gaviria and Filippo Ganna. #AllezTotalEnergies
Je pourrais dire que c’était une bonne journée et je tiens à remercier mes coéquipiers du Team TotalEnergies pour leur effort. Nous étions aux avant-postes durant toute de l’étape, nos gars ont travaillé dur dans la montée et ont réussi à scinder le peloton lorsque nous avons atteint le sommet. Ensuite, avec Movistar, nous avons mis nos coureurs en tête pour contrôler la course et neutraliser l’échappée et quand nous avons vu que tous les sprinteurs étaient distancés, nous avons commencé à tirer. Félicitations à Gaviria pour sa victoire. Pour nous, ça aurait pu être mieux ou pire mais Fernando a été le plus rapide aujourd’hui et je suis content de mon résultat. Et c’est un plaisir pour moi de partager le podium d’aujourd’hui avec deux très bons amis, Fernando Gaviria et Filippo Ganna.#AllezTotalEnergies
